I keep hearing about interviews with presidential candidates and whether or not they would have given the order to kill Osama. I'm pretty sure that almost every person in the world would have given that order. It seems that Barack Obama is taking to much credit for the death of Osama. It wasn't like he devoted his presidency up until that point on finding Osama bin laden. He was in the right position at the right time. President Truman gave the order to drop the first atomic bombs in war.
He did not come up with this plan, the Manhattan Project was underway since 1942 when FDR was in office. Truman didn't come into office until 1945 after FDR's death. The alternative to the atomic bomb was to invade Japan which could have cost hundreds of thousands of lives. There is clearly only one choice that could be made. Truman was simply in the right position at the right time. Truman decision was still harder then Barack's since even with the bombs thousands of people would die.
